Coventry City Academy boss Richard Stevens has said that the future of City's Academy is looking bright.

Stevens was speaking at a Sky Blue Trust open meeting tonight at the Albany Club in Earlsdon and said: "After a couple of bad years there is light at the end of the tunnel.

"The club has supported me and the academy.

"I have been in talks with Paul Breed at CSF and the future is looking very bright.

"There are lots off strong academies near here.

"I can offer something that not all of them can though. A clear and proven route to the first team."

Speaking about how good City's Academy is, Stevens said: "We were ranked 16th of the 92 clubs in terms of academy progress and effectiveness (players in 1st teams etc).

"We're now ranked 9th overall and 6th out of the 72 in the EFL."
