Steve Staunton who walked out on Coventry City at the start of this season, is highly tipped to become the next manager of the Republic Of Ireland. According to this morning's Daily Mirror, the defender,currently player-coach at Walsall has been invited for an interview at the Irish FA later this week.

Popular choices Martin O'Neill and David O'Leary have ruled themselves out to replace one time City scout Brian Kerr.

Two former City players from Belgium are still playing in their homeland. Philippe Clement is playing at centre half for Club Brugge and starred in in their 2-1 win over Gent on Saturday whilst Cedric Roussel came on as a substitute for league leaders Standard Liege against Mouscron. Standard are two points clear of Anderlecht who have Laurent Delorge on their books.
