Stephens: We Did Not Perform, So Cannot Complain

Coventry City loanee Jack Stephens said that the City players did not perform so they cannot complain about the 2-0 defeat at Barnsley.

The loanee from Southampton told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “We wanted to come out and show everyone how good we were, especially after losing on Saturday.

“It didn’t quite work out how we wanted it to and we know that and hold our hands up tonight.

“Obviously when they got their goal it picked the crowd up and made it difficult for us but going into the second half only 1-0 down we still had a great chance of getting something out of the game.

“But the second goal completely killed us and the last 25 minutes they were holding on to their lead and we couldn’t find the breakthrough.

“At the end of the day we conceded two from set pieces and that’s disappointing and not like us really.

“We didn’t perform so we can’t complain about the result tonight.”
