Coventry Sphinx Secretary Jackie McGowan is off to the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony after being named as one of seven Coventry Unsung Sporting Heroes.
Jackie, a long time servant of Sphinx with Secretary and matchday assistance service in both the juniors and now the seniors team, was one of seven lucky recipients from local sport who will be going to the Opening Ceremony on July 27th,
They will be going after Coventry City Council Leader John Mutton decided that the those who dedicate their time and efforts into helping others to play sport in Coventry, deserved a once in a life-time opportunity and the Council invited people to submit reasons why the people nominated deserved to go.
