Coventry Sphinx scored their 500th goal in their Midland Alliance matches in the 3-2 win over Gornal Athletic yesterday.
Defender Ricky Fletcher scored the historic goal in the 50th minute.
There had been some talk that it was an own goal but Fletcher, who has been a rock in Sphinx's defence this season after joining from Coventry City, told Covsupport News Service: "It was definitely my goal".
