Sphinx Miss Chance To Go Top

Coventy Sphinx missed the chance to go to the top of Midland Combination Premier Division after they could only draw 1-1 at home to Shifnal Town.

Coventry Sphinx Youth team also missed out. Danny Cahill and John Woodward's team went down to a 3-1 defeat at Kettering Town in the final qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup and missed out on a First Round proper home tie with Nottingham Forest. Sphinx are unbeaten in their league fixtures and are battling to get to the Midland Floodlit Youth League Premier Division.

Covsupport would like to send their best wishes to former Sphinx player Jamie Towers who broke two bones in his ankle playing for Keresley Jaguar on Sunday morning and is expected to be out for six months.
