Sphinx Lose In Ten A SIde Defeat

Coventry Sphinx were beaten 2-1 in a Midland Alliance fixture by Tividale.

Sphinx, who remembered former defender Paul Gibbons with a minute's silence before kick off, had beaten Tividale twice in cup competitions but they trailed to a Nathan Waite goal before they had keeper Carl O'Neill sent off  

Tividale were also reduced to ten men when they had a player sent off for persisent use of his elbow but in the 66th minute and despite the good work of Ashley Jackson in the Sphinx goal, Nathan Waite netted a second. 

Youth team Jackson Downie scored a consolation for Sphinx in the 90th minute in front of a crowd of 120.
