Soldiers To Provide Honour Guard For Newcastle Game

As part of their on-going work with the Armed Forces, Coventry City and Newcastle United supporting members of the the 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, will provide a guard of honour for the teams at the City versus Newcastle match at the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday December 9th.

City have given the Battalion one hundred tickets for the game and the Sky Blues Commercial Director Nathan Kosky said to the club website "There will be a guard of honour as the teams walk on to the pitch before the match which is expected to attract one of the largest crowds of the season to the Ricoh Arena.

"The soldiers carry out their duties in often hazardous conditions while serving their country and this is a chance to show our appreciation of their work.

"We will be repeating this in the New Year with the 2nd  Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and we are planning some special events around this.

"The Newcastle match will be one of the Sky Blues' most high profile games of the season with the Magpies' selling out many of their away fixtures with their loyal following."

Ticket are selling well for the game and anyone planning on going is adivsed to get a ticket in advance.
