Coventry born Norman Smurthwaite, the Chairman of Port Vale has said that he will be contacting Staffordshire Police to demand a refund over policing charges for Port Vale's game against the Sky Blues on Saturday.

Staffordshire Police had made the game with Coventry City on Saturday a category A game but with only 708 City supporters and no trouble, the amount of police that were on duty proved to be totally un-necessary in the opinion of Mr Smurhwaite who tweeted: "No crowd issues so be knocking on Commissioners door for a refund of Police bill"
