Sky Blues On The Road - Queens Park Rangers

Last updated : 19 December 2005 By Covsupport

Coventry City travel to Queens Park Rangers still looking for their first away victory of the season. Kick off at 7.45pm live on Sky

Having played the West Londoners twice this season in Ibiza and the first ever league game at the Arena, Micky Adams knows all about the threat posed by Ian Holloway’s side. Both games proved controversial but Adams has insisted that there is no bad blood between the two clubs, the players, backroom staff or between himself and Ian Holloway.

He’ll have Don Hutchison available after the on loan midfielder was forced to miss the win over Millwall and will be assessing the fitness of Stern John who has returned after an unsuccessful loan spell at Derby County. Kevin Thornton is doubtful after picking up a knock in the reserves friendly at Chesterfield last Monday.

Ian Holloway will also have problems with his team selection. Former City striker Paul Furlong is suspended and forwards Kevin Gallen and Mark Nygaard are struggling. Dominic Shimmin is out for up to twelve weeks with a recurrence of a groin injury.

Uriah Rennie is the referee for the 98th meeting between the two sides. City have won 39 and drawn 25 matches, scoring 168 goals compared to QPR’s 130. In the game last season,City were beaten 4-1 in a game which proved the first in Peter Reid's downfall.

Tickets are available with City fans having to pay £24 for a seat in the School End Upper Tier. Entrance is in Bloemfontain Road.

City supporters in Dublin can watch the game on tv in the company of other Sky Blues supporters. Tonight, the Coventry City Supporters Club Irish Branch are hosting a social in aid of the Academy’s “Save Our Academy” appeal. Non-members can join on the night and those going to the social from 7pm onwards at Jim Beams, in Dorset Street Upper are asked to wear sky blue.
