Sky Blues Need Mentality Change - McIndoe

Coventry City midfielder Michael McIndoe has said that a mentality change is needed if the Sky Blues are to finally find some success.

"This game is exactly what we need to show the right mentality and get a thorough examination by Cardiff to see how people react," said McIndoe to the CT.

“But it’s another Championship game and it doesn’t matter who it is, whether it is home or away, we are going into the game looking to win.

“People keep mentioning these big games but I honestly don’t believe there is a big game in this division. "If it is Arsenal or Man United people can be daunted by it but no disrespect to Cardiff or West Brom or any other Championship club, there aren’t any big games and there shouldn’t be.

"And maybe that’s why this club has been not doing a lot for so many years because people are looking at games like that. And if they are they shouldn’t be in this football team.

“This club has stayed in this division for seven or more years and done nothing with it, neither being relegated nor promoted, and that’s why they are struggling to put bums on seats because we haven’t done anything.

“The club is going through a bit of a transitional period now. "We have a small squad and the gaffer is trying to change the mentality and get the guys at the club to be successful because we all know what mediocrity can breed.

“But hopefully we will eventually find characters who are ambitious and take us into the Premier League. "We have all been in different work places where you can accept mediocrity but that bit of hard work and extra mile has to be done sometimes.

"But I have seen and been involved in a few games this year where we haven’t been at it because of those reasons.”
