SISU Want Ricoh Half Share

According to this morning's Coventry Telegraph, the talks between City representatives, SISU's Joy Seppala, Coventry City Council reps and those from the Higgs Trust all rest on SISU now being able to buy the Higgs half share of the Ricoh Arena.

SISU are trying to get the club to have more income streams in the form of food and drink, car parking and monies from the gigs and conferences which the Arena stages.

They have withheld two months rent and are yet to file the club accounts so the transfer embargo can be lifted.

Previously there had been abject horror from many at the thought of SISU getting their hands on the Ricoh Arena, however, with the owners of the stadium knowing that it is a long time until the Rugby World Cup for the stadium to be empty without the Sky Blues playing there, the mood seems to have mellowed.

Speaking about the meeting on Thursday to the CT's Martin Bagot, City Council Leader John Mutton said: "I felt it was a very positive meeting and avenues are now being explored which hopefully will lead to a brighter future for the club and a more profitable for the Ricoh Arena.

"These discussions are on-going but I have asked the football club to keep the fans informed.
