Former Coventry City striker Robbie Simpson has said that he would like his loan to Brentford from Huddersfield Town made permanent.

Simpson has struggled to get into the Huddersfield side due to injuries and the form of other players since joining them from Coventry City in a £300,000 move.

He was loaned to the Griffin Park club at the start of the season and speaking to the Houslow Chronicle, he said: "When I joined in the summer the talk was of a season-long loan with a view to a permanent.

"The manager was keen to get me here and I wanted to come and see how I liked the club. So far so good to be honest.

"There's a great bunch of lads here, an ambitious young manager on his way up I believe, and the fans are great too."
