Coventry City manager Iain Dowie has been talking about why he picked Robbie Simpson out of non-league football to play for the Sky Blues.
Simpson A Dark Horse - Dowie
Said Dowie to the CT: "He works his socks off, is a pain for defenders and brave. "It is a big step for him but he has finished his degree and I have got a lot of high hopes for him that he will kick on here and could be the dark horse. "I really believe that.
"That's why I have bought him here because I really believe that he has got a chance of playing at this level.
"If he is a little bit short at the end of pre-season then there is no problem of playing in the reserves or being loaned out but at the moment I have brought him in because I think he will make an impact on the first team."
