Silverware Still Possible

Come May 3rd and there could be some silverware to celebrate at the club's end of season dinner and award ceremony. Coventry City Reserves still have a mathematical chance of winning the FA Premier Reserve League South title. Despite the 6-0 defeat at Chelsea on Monday night, City remain third in the table. Leaders Spurs beat West Ham 1-0 on Monday to give themselves a ten point lead at the top over second placed Arsenal who were beaten 1-0 at home to Fulham.

Alan Cork's side have to play Spurs who are thirteen points ahead of the Sky Blues twice in their remaining six games and victory in those two games would heighten their cause for some silverware.

Whilst the Reserves look forward to an exciting end to their campaign, Coventry City U18's play their final FA Academy League Group B game on Saturday with a trip to West Ham United's training ground at Little Heath, knowing that they cannot make the Academy League Semi-Finals.

Aston Villa won the league comfortably and a late run by Trevor Peake's Leicester City has seen them finish in second place some five points ahead of City with a game in hand.

After Saturday's game, City will complete their campaign playing four inter-league fixtures. The first is at home to Millwall on Saturday March 18, followed by Ipswich Town away on Saturday April 1st, Fulham at home on April 8th and Southampton away on April 22nd.
