One of Coventry City's most successful managers John Sillett has spoken about how to attract the fans back to The Ricoh.

Sillett's formula is simple, attacking football from the back. As a former full back himself, he advocates the use of attacking full backs and to use them as wingers when the situation arises.

Sillett said,  "We are a club that is used to playing good football from the back. It is also important for the players to know the system because I have seen it change so much, and it has to be played with enthusiasm like we had in 1987 with the likes of Lloyd McGrath, Dave Phillips and Nick Pickering."

"We don't seem to see too many players like that around these days. I still watch a lot of football and being a full-back in my playing days I always liked using wingers as a manager. Coventry have got a wide pitch so why not use it?"

"Look at the success Manchester United have had. Most of the top teams play with wingers. It is a simple game and sometimes people make it difficult with tactics, but ask any centre-forward what they want and it is service from the wings, because if they get that they will score goals.

"This city needs uplifting football and if we get that then the fans will come flooding back. Everyone is waiting for it to happen again."
