Signings Well Down The Line - Flowers

Coventry City Assistant Manager Tim Flowers has said that the Sky Blues are close to making a couple more signings. Said the former City keeper to the CT: We are looking at a number of players with Premiership experience in a lot of different positions, but it is not easy. "We are still not sure what the budget is yet so that is a problem."

Flowers denied being linked with Tommy Miller saying: "I have got to be honest and say that his name has not cropped up, but that doesn't mean it won't. "Iain and I meet up on a regular basis to discuss targets and we are going to be interested in a lot of players."

Lee Hendrie is another possible target but Flowers would only say: "I saw him play while he was on loan at Stoke last season and he did well and if we are looking at a pot of players, Lee would be in that pot. "But we have not discussed him more than anyone else."

On the story that City had made a bid for Burnley's Wayne Thomas, Flowers said: "I wish we had! "Wayne is a good player and he impressed us when we played Burnley when he was aggressive and a big threat in our box. "But he is contracted to Burnley for another year, so if we come into some money then maybe.

"There are people we are well down the line on, some that will go to tribunals, so we will need to get a bit of money together. "We are sifting around to see what is available."
