Coventry City winger Jim O'Brien has called for the Sky Blues to sign Marcus Tudgay who had been training with City.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, O'Brien said about Tudgay, whom he played with at Barnsley: “He’s an established player who has given the younger lads a lift but he’s given everyone a lift, me included, because he’s a good pro, nice lad and good player as well.

“I’d definitely like to see Marcus sign because I enjoyed playing with him before and know what his strengths are.

“His link-up play is really good and his experience will be really important to us this season if he does come in.

“We are familiar with each other and that helps. I know where he’s going to be and he knows where I’m going to be so it's nice to have that in the group.”
