The row over Tim Sherwood continues with news that Micky Adams has come out to defend the former Spurs and England midfielder against a backlash from City supporters.

Sherwood joined the Sky Blues from Portsmouth last summer despite suffering from a broken leg. Concerns have been expressed by supporters as to why a medical did not reveal the full extent of his injury and why a player with such an injury was given a two year contract by Peter Reid.

Adams has defended Sherwood who was also made club captain by Reid saying : "Tim has been given permission by myself to continue his rehabilitation closer to home."

The City manager who acts as a summarizer for Sky TV also defended Sherwood over his media work telling Andy Turner from the CET:"He has been granted permission by myself to appear on Sky TV. "It is not something he hasn't contacted the club about and has done it with my blessing."

Adams added that Tim Sherwood will be reporting back on July 1st for pre-season training with everyone else.
