Sheffers Ok For Two

Gary McSheffrey will be ok to play in City's opening two games of the season if selected.
As the dismissal was in a friendly and therefore not a league or cup game, any three match ban for violent conduct red card would not start until fourteen days after the offence.
This means McSheffrey will be available for selection for the games v Sunderland and Southampton. The club have lodged an appeal and this will be heard next week.
Micky Adams told the club website: "We've reviewed the video and I've got no doubt at all that the red card should be rescinded. "We believe that the referee was facing the wrong way to see any incident and further to this, we feel there wasn't an incident at all."
