Shawsy Not Off Like A Shot

Richard Shaw will not be joining Aldershot FC. There had been speculation that the defender who ended his eleven year career with the Sky Blues in May would be going to the Conference side. However,Shots Chairman Shots admitted that he had had talk with Shaw but quashed any rumours of an approach this summer.

Prentice has told Aldershot News: "Richard came to see us last season, was very impressed and very interested in signing. "He was, though, in his testimonial year at Coventry and had another really good season there so the deal didn't go through. There has been no approach whatsoever this summer."

Elsewhere, Craig Bellamy has completed a £6m move to Liverpool from Blackburn Rovers and Kevin Richardson will be in charge of Sunderland's pre-season training. Sunderland who face City on the opening day of the season have still not appointed a new manager following the sacking of Mick McCarthy and have asked the former City midfielder to take training until a new boss is in place.
