The defender who has so far made 353 appearances for the Sky Blues was due to have his testimonial as a pre-season friendly. However, Shaw's contract expires at the end of the season and with the possibility that it might not be renewed or other offers amy see him move on, the testimonial has been brought forward.
Gordon Strachan's Celtic are being touted as the opposition for the game which will be held at the Arena, however, their £100,000 appearance fee may be a problem and a cheaper option may be sought.
