Richard Shaw has lost his job as Reserve team manager thanks to his pre-season performances. The defender in his tenth year at the club, had been appointed as reserve team manager but with Reid unable to find the centre half he can afford, Shaw who was steady and reliable in pre-season has now been asked to concentrate on playing.

Reid said:"We have had a chat and I think it is best that Richard concentrates on playing at this moment in time. "He has done so well in the pre-season and put himself in the frame that it would be unfair to expect him to take the reserves as well."

Steve Ogrizovic and Brian Borrows who did an excellent job last season as reserve coaches alongside their Academy jobs have been reappointed.

Their first game will be tomorrow night at Nuneaton Borough.
