Coventry City Coach Richard Shaw has welcomed the fact that his role at the Sky Blues has the responsibility that he wants.

Shaw, now back at the club for whom he played over 300 times for, told Sky Blue Player's Nick Connoll: "I really am pleased to be back here. I've loved the last two or three weeks and I've enjoyed seeing the players attitude and application which has been fantastic.

"I did the coaching thing at Millwall and now I have come here with a bit of responsibility, Lee Carsley has come with us and we have a good close knit staff. I'm still young enough to be on the winning team in the five-a-sides and I'm excited about what next season will bring.

"People say that we have our work cut out for us but to be honest I would prefer it like that. I would rather come here, work hard and overcome obstacles because I think you get more gratification from that.

"We know there's alot of hard work to be done here, the manager knows that as does everyone that is involved with the club but we will give it 110 per cent to turn around its fortunes. We got relegated last year so as far as I'm concerned it's onwards and upwards."
