Coventry City's Development Officer Steve Waggott has said that the futures of Richard Shaw and Lee Carsley are safe despite Mark Robins bringing in Steve Taylor as a coach.
Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Mr Waggott said: "“Mark was keen to bring Steve to the club to support him alongside Richard, Lee and Steve Ogrizovic.
“We are delighted to welcome him aboard and I am sure the players will see the benefit of his experience.
"We have had discussions with Richard and Lee because historically what happens in football is that a manager comes in and brings his entire backroom staff, physios, everyone he has worked with and everyone he can trust.
"That can't be the case here - one we can't afford it and two it wouldn't be right because two ambitious guys with their own ideas have just wiped their feet on the welcome mat."
Richard Shaw will revert back to being assistant manager whilst Carsley (pictured below) will continue as coach of City U21's.
