Coventry City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has said that the sale of Scott Dann and Danny Fox in the close season has brought the rest of the players closer together.

"It woke us up, brought us together as a team and I think we're playing better football this season," said Gunnarsson to the CT.

"We did well in some games last year but we weren't consistent and we decided we needed to be better this season.

"You can't do it as individuals - that's a fact - because football is a team sport. You have to pull together and we've got that togetherness now.

"We've got a small squad and if you get injuries it can be hard to fill the positions so we could do with a couple of more players but let's see what happens.

"We can't expect the people up there - Sisu and the chairman - to be spending lots of money on new players so there's no point in getting frustrated about it

"We've had some new players come in now and hopefully there might be some more."
