Selection headache for Thorn

Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has a different sort of selection headache ahead of tomorrow's home game against Derby County.

For  a change he has to decide which players he leaves out rather than selecting from a threadbare squad.

First of all, he has to decide whether he will hand a club debut to Cody McDonald and whether to partner him with the in demand striker Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Thorn is able to select Gary McSheffrey once again now he has recovered from his knock, but he may opt to play  David Bell, who himself has recovered from his back injury that forced him off at Middlesbrough.

Tall striker Clive Platt has also recovered from injury and is available for selection, but during his absence, he has dropped a little down the pecking order and Thorn could select Roy O'Donovan ahead of Platt. O'Donovan had been in scoring form during pre-season, but has yet to find the net in the league so far this term.

Club captain Sammy Clingan is back from international duty with Northern Ireland uninjured, but recovered from the illness that kept him out of Northern Ireland's 1-0 home defeat against Serbia.

Freddy Eastwood maybe on the bench, but Gary Deegan will be out. Both players are undergoing fitness training at Lilleshall.
