Season Gets Off To A Draw

The Championship season got underway tonight with the first game between relegated Middlesbrough and Sheffield United.

Both sides put in plenty of effort but the game finished in a 0-0 draw.

Tomorrow, Cardiff City play their first Championship game at their new home against Scunthorpe United. Crystal Palace are at home to Plymouth, Derby play Peterborough, Leicester City play Swansea, Preston are at home to Bristol City, QPR face Blackpool with Reading facing Nottingham Forest.

Sheffield Wednesday play local rivals Barnsley, Watford play Doncaster and the first Footballl League game to be shown live on BBC television in years sees West Brom at home to Newcastle United.

The Football League show can be seen, which will have highlights of all the games on BBC1 at 11.45pm.
