Danny Seaborne has signed for Partick Thistle.
The central defender cancelled his Coventry City contract on Friday and has signed for the Scottish side on a two year deal.
Steven Pressley told Alan Poole of the Coventry Telegraoh about his decision to off-load Seaborne, who made 24 appearances for the Sky Blues and said: “I spoke to Danny at the tail-end of last season and, a little bit like with Carl Baker, told him I was planning to bring in another player in his position so his game-time might be limited and the opportunity was there to leave if he didn’t want that at this stage of his career.
“He’s taken that opportunity and I would imagine he’ll sign with another club in the next couple of days. We wish him all the best because he’s a really good professional.
“It was a tough call because we had a really good relationship but this was nothing personal, just a footballing decision which I thought could move on the club further. He took it well and his attitude in pre-season was terrific.”
