James Scowcroft made his Crystal Palace debut in a 2-1 win over Boavista. The midfielder who joined The Eagles in a £500k move from the Sky Blues played the first half against the team which will play at the Arena on Saturday night.

According to our spy at the game.Scowcroft played up front with Clinton Morrison and "looked lost."

Boavista were described as "not being up to much"
Richard Shaw sat out Millwall's 1-0 home defeat to Reading.

Julian Darby has teamed up with Billy Davies once more. The former City midfielder had been employed by Davies as a coach at Preston North End until Davies departed in the summer. Darby was then released by the Lillywhites

Davies admitted to Derby's official website that he had invited Darby to have a look at a game and the club's training ground before he gave the 39 year old a job at Pride Park. Said Davies: "Julian had a number of other offers, including an assistant manager's role, so it's a tribute to our facilities and personnel that he chose to join Derby County - he can see that we're trying to build something here."
