New Coventry City signing Scott Dann has said that his job at the Sky Blues will be to prevent goals.

"It was great to get a few minutes on Saturday because I didn't think I would, but thankfully we got a few goals and I was able to get on the pitch," said the Scouser signed from Walsall for £1m on Thursday night.

"I can't wait to start in the team, although I might have to wait a while but I will just keep working hard and hopefully get my chance. "I have come here to a bigger football club and I have got to do my job when I do get in the team and hopefully stay there.

"They are a good bunch of lads and everyone has been very welcoming.

"Obviously it helps that I know Danny Fox, who is a good mate, and we have played together for a couple of years now and we see a lot of each other.

"We had a good team at Walsall and a lot of our success was based on clean sheets and it would be nice to keep that going and it is our job now to make sure Coventry keep clean sheets."
