Saying It With Flowers

Coventry City Assistant Manager Tim Flowers who was banished to the stand for allegedly throwing the ball away attended the after game press conference and told the club website: "It was terrific response from the players. It was everything we asked for and what we demanded.

"The previous two performances against Birmingham and especially QPR were not good enough - there wasn't a player in those games who didn't give his all - but our quality and composure wasn't there.

"But today it was. We moved the ball around well, played some good two-touch football so all-in-all it was a much improved display. "It was a great finish from Leon, he gambled on it being a short back-pass, followed the ball in and reaped the rewards.

"He's not been involved for a while but has definitely staked his claim for a place in the side, as did a number of other players today - I though Isaac Osbourne in particular was immense, as was Robert Page.

On being sent off,Flowers said: "I'm not quite sure what it was for and will have to wait and see what the letter will say. I threw the ball to Adam Virgo to try to let the game flow and the next thing I know I'm down the tunnel!

"But that's life and I wouldn't want to be a fourth official because they have to make some tough decisions."
