Save Our City Meeting Report

Last updated : 16 December 2011 By JM

Last night saw some City supporters attending a meeting in Coventry as part of the Save Our City campaign.

Here is a brief report of the meeting

Aim of Save Our City campaign
To get SISU out of our club as quickly as possible by getting them to put the club up for sale at a price that reflects the clubs current value and not what SISU claim to have invested - they have to write off all or a at least a large proportion of that. They sell up and stop this fruitless search for more investors - one Canadian found in four years doesn''t reflect well. SISU cut their losses and sell up.

Method
Bring to the attention of as wide an audience as possible the appalling job this supposed professional investment management company has made of this particular venture. SISU appear very sensitive to bad publicity and if it is their Achilles heel we need to grab it and exploit it. They have potentially lost their investors tens of millions through their mismanagement with no obvious plan as to how they hope to recover it. Message being - would you trust these people with your money?

First Step
Protest at the Southampton FA Cup match. The consensus was for a total boycott but a significant minority wished to protest but still support their team if not the owners so to show a united front against the common enemy, SISU, the following plan has been devised.

Prior to the match ALL fans meet by the Jimmy Hill statue at 2.45 to sing and chant their protest against SISU, this show of defiance lasting until 3.15. This will have the effect of having all the supporters together yet the impact of having an near empty stadium at kick off will gain national publicity. At 3.15 those who wish to go into the ground whilst the others stay outside and continue the protest. At the final whistle we will reunite and carry on the protest outside.

We will be contacting all local and national media to publicise the event. A flyer is being designed and everyone who wishes to is encouraged to print of copies and hand them out to everyone they can think off.

Once again thanks to all those who came last night and together we really can make a difference and rid the club of these people.

This is the first step towards getting SISU out of our club - join us and SAVE OUR CITY
