Coventry City lie eleventh in the Championship after this afternoon's matches.

There were wins for the leaders Cardiff, Barnsley,Sheff Wed, Luton,Preston, Stoke (4-0 winners at Leeds),Leicester,West Brom (5-1 winners at Ipswich) and Wolves who beat Colchester 1-0 thanks to a goal from former Sky Blue Jay Bothroyd. Dion Dublin and Darren Huckerby scored for Norwich in a 3-3 draw at QPR.

In the Premiership, Craig Bellamy scored for Liverpool in a 1-1 home drew with Blackburn whilst Spurs defender Calum Davenport was sent off at Aston Villa.

Richard Shaw had a superb game at the back for Millwall in a 1-0 home win over AFC Bournemouth.

Trevor Benjamin scored for Peterbrough United in a 2-1 win over Shrewsbury.

Locally, Nuneaton Borough are out of the FA Cup in the Third Qualifying Round. After reaching the Third Round proper last season, Roger Ashby's side fell to a 1-0 home defeat by Hucknall Town. Rugby Town and Stratford are also out. Rugby lost 3-1 at home to Chelmsford City whilst Stratford lost to another Essex based side Bishops Stortford.
Bedworth United beat Dunstable Town 2-1 in a Southern League Midland Division clash at The Oval whilst in the Midland Alliance, Atherstone beat Cradley 5-0,Leamington beat Tipton 3-1 and Racing Club Warwick drew 2-2 at Oadby.

Only one of our sides played in the Midland Combination Premier Division today with Alveston drawing 1-1 at home to Barnt Green. In Division 2,Coventry Sphinx Reserves lost 3-2 at home to Worcester City A.

In the Coventry Charity Cup First Round, Coventry Sphinx won 2-0 at Witherley United. Coventry Copsewood beat Hawkesmill Sports who have Lloyd McGrath involved in their set up 4-1, Southam won 2-1 at Massey Ferguson and Nuneaton Griff beat Triumph Athletic 3-2. Stockton won 4-0 at Bermuda, Brooklands Jag beat Bedworth Ex Service 2-1 whilst Leamington Hibernian went through after Kenilworth Town could not raise a side.
Second Round games saw Folly Lane beat Stockingford 4-3 on penalties after a 3-3 draw at London Road. Dunlop won 4-2 at Coundon Court and Christ The King beat Mount Nod 5-2. The rest of the Second Round matches will be played on November 11th.
