In the FA Vase, Stratford Town who live to fight another day after drawing 1-1 at New Mills whilst Atherstone who parted company with their Assistant Manager Martin Ashcroft on Tuesday night lost 1-0 at home to Boldmere St Michaels.

In the Alliance, Racing Club Warwick had a bad day losing 3-0 at Rocester.

Coventry Sphinx had fancied their chances of moving back twoards the top of the Midland Combination Premier Division table when they took on second from bottom Brereton Social at Sphinx Drive. Sphinx twice hit the post but were behind in 34th minute when Dan McLeod finished from close range. Paul Charnley who came on as a late sub for Sphinx saw his side draw level in the 51st minute when a long ranger from Robbie Stevenson bounced under the visiting keeper and into the net. Nine minutes later,McLeod scored again for their visitors in what was their only shot in the whole of the second half. Stevenson crashed a shot against the bar late on with fourteen to go but with Charnley replacing Covsupport sponsored Danny McSheffrey, Sphinx could not fgind a way through and went down to their first home defeat of the season.

Down the Binley Road to Allard Way and Scott Furlong's side also suffered a home defeat losing 1-0 to Brocton. Massey Ferguson faired better drawing 1-1 at Alveston, Nuneaton Griff drew 2-2 at home to Cadbury and Southam drew 1-1 at Pilkington.

In the First Division, Leamington Hibernian lost 2-1 at home to Bartley Green and Coventry Sphinx Reserves lost 1-0 at Droitwich in Division Two.

President Cup Second Round games saw Kenilworth Town lose 4-0 at Newhall United but Stockingford won 3-1 at West Midlands Police.
