City U18's went down to a 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United.

Results in the Championship saw victories for Cardiff,Colchester,Leicester, Norwich for whom Darren Huckerby scored and Wolves.

The games at Southampton,Stoke and Crystal Palace for whom former Coventry City midfielder James Scowcroft scored,all ended in draws.

Locally, in the Conference North, Nuneaton Borough were held 1-1 at home by Scarborough. Both Rugby Town and Bedworth United lost their Southern League home matches. Rugby were beaten 2-0 by Mangotsfield whilst Bedworth lost at home to Stourport 1-0.

An overcast and windy afternoon at the New Windmill saw Leamington beat Biddulph Victoria 2 -0 in front of 510 supporters. A run and a long range shot saw Jonny Adams put The Brakes 1-0 up on 28 minutes. Ben Mackey came on in the second half replacing Dave Pearson and the former Sky Blue put them 2-0 up after 72 minutes.

Elsewhere in the Midland Alliance, Atherstone Town won 3-2 at Market Dreyton Town whilst Racing Club Warwick drew 1-1 at home to Rocester.

With Coventry Sphinx's Midland Combination Premier Division game at Highgate being postponed due to United's on-going pitch problems, it was defeats all round for our local sides. Massey Ferguson lost 3-2 at Continental Star in front of a crowd of only ten, whilst Coventry Copsewood lost 3-0 at Walsall Wood,Southam United lost 3-1 at home to Pilkington and Alveston lost 3-0 at home to Castle Vale.

In the First Division, Stockingford won 4-0 at Fairfield Villa, but Leamington Hibernian lost 3-0 at University of Birmingham and Kenilworth Town lost 5-2 at home to Thimblemill Rec.
