Russell The Ref For City's Trip To Leeds

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship game at Leeds United on Saturday is Mick Russell from Hertfordshire.

Mick is a Gas Service Engineer who started refereeing in the 1990's after being encouraged to give it a go due to his moaning about referees whilst playing. The married man with three kids reached the National List of assistant referees in 2000 and was the referees' list in 2004.

Mr Russell has had 26 games (eleven of which have been in the Championship) this season including Leeds 1-1 draw at Norwich and has shown fifty yellow cards and four red. His last match was Shrewsbury's 3-0 win over Burton Albion on Tuesday night.

His last City match was the 2-0 defeat at Cardiff in October 2009. Previous City matches he has taken charge of are; the 4-0 home win over Barnsley in February 2008 and the 3-2 defeat at Ipswich in January 2005.

The Assistants are Paul Davison from Cleveland & Scott Oldham from Lancashire The Fourth Official is Andrew Scregg from Liverpool.
