Russell The Ref For City V Port Vale

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City’s League One game against Port Vale is Mick Russell.

Mick is a Gas Service Engineer who started refereeing in the 1990's after being encouraged to give it a go due to his moaning about referees whilst playing. The married man with three kids reached the National List of assistant referees in 2000 and was the referees' list in 2004. 

His last City game was the 1-0 win at Wycombe Wanderers in the JPT back in September.

Previous, City games, he has been in charge of are; the 1-0 defeat at Leeds United in February 2011, the 2-0 defeat at Cardiff in October 2009, the 4-0 home win over Barnsley in February 2008 and the 3-2 defeat at Ipswich in January 2005.

This season, he has had 23 games and shown 64 yellow cards and three reds.

His assistants are Chris Powell and Richard Wigglesworth. The Fourth Official is Mark Haywood.
