The Football Association has proposed that players, managers, coaches and club officials from Step 4 level of the English League system upwards  will be banned from betting, either directly or indirectly, on any football match or competition anywhere in the world.

This will affect those involved with Rugby Town, Bedworth United and Stratford Town as well as the higher league Nuneaton Town, Leamington FC and Coventry City, if the Betting Rule changes are agreed by FA shareholders at their AGM on 21 May.

Those involved with clubs like Coventry Sphinx and those in the Midland Combination like Coventry Copsewood, Alvis, Southam, Atherstone Racing Club Warwick, Nuneaton Griff etc will not be allowed to bet on matches involving teams in their own league.
