Ruffels Plays In Embarassing Oxford Defeat

Former Coventry City youngster Josh Ruffels played for Oxford United in an embarassing 5-1 defeat to cross town team Oxford City.

The 19-year-old midfielder from Kidlington, who made two appearances for Coventry City in 2011/12, is on trial at Oxford and started the game as a substitute.

Ruffels started on the bench but came on in the 21st minute when Dave Lynn picked up an early hip injury..

The League Two side who face Coventry City on Saturday, had taken the lead but in a spell of fourteen minutes had shipped in four goals.

Green scored a fifth for Oxford City in the 76th minute to add to the misery for the Oxford United fans in a gate of 1,005.
