Rose Goes But Maybe Not Forever

Seattle Sounders mdifielder Andy Rose has left Coventry City after a two week trial but whether he gets a deal with the Sky Blues is up to Mark Venus.

City boss Tony Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “He’s left us now but I think there’s a potential footballer there.

“I’m not sure he’s ready now or could come and play in our team today. Positionally, he would have to learn a role so I have left it with Mark Venus to see what his advisors are thinking.

“He might be too much for us or he might want an opportunity. But I saw enough to think there is a footballer in there and definitely an asset.

“He’s 6ft 4, can run all day, passes it nice and simple and he’s a brilliant individual. He’s a lad who likes football, loves to talk about football and the tactics; ‘why are we doing this, why are we doing that? At Seattle we don’t do that,’ so I like his personality.

“He’s young and very athletic and a real potential asset but, not ready to play in front of Fleck, Vincelot or Bigirimana. But an asset who would compete with Conor Thomas really, because they’re similar types of footballers.”
