Covsupport regret to announce that the oldest surviving Coventry City player Ron Cox passed away earlier today aged 87.

Born in Foleshill on May 2nd 1919, and after playing for Wyken Pippin, Ron turned professional at the age of 26 following the end of the Second World War as a deputy for George Mason at centre half.

This limited his appearances to twenty nine with one in the FA Cup. In 1952, he moved to Atherstone Town and retired in 1954.

Ron's son Jim and his Grandson Mark are both long serving City supporters and our condolences go to them and their family.
