Roeder Hits Out Back At City

Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder has accused Coventry City of trying to unsettle David Bell.

Chris Coleman had made it known he was interested in the winger in the summer, but Bell then with Luton Town opted for Norwich City.

A few days ago, rumours started circulating that Norwich were interested in swapping Bell for Elliott Ward. Glenn Roeder had already denied this and has now hit out out at the Sky Blues accusing them of starting the rumours.

"That sort of speculation, and it came from Coventry, can be a little bit annoying," said Roeder to BBC Radio Norfolk.

"All sorts of speculation is going to be slipped into the media, whether it's the players themselves, the players' agents or whether it's the club who are trying to unsettle a particular player, which is very annoying.

"We've had a case of that ourselves this week with David Bell and Coventry. I will repeat: David Bell has only just started his Norwich career and I think he'll have a long and very successful career at Norwich."
