Rock Bottom City Now Three Points Adrift

Coventry City are three points adrift at the bottom of the League One table after a 2-1 defeat at Gillingham who moved up to eighth.

City are on five points from nine games and are three behind third from bottom Southend United, who have eight points, were beaten 4-0 at fifth placed Northampton Town.

Oldham who lost 2-0 at home to Swindon are second from bottom with the final relegation place being occupied by Shrewsbury Town who drew 1-1 at AFC Wimbledon.

Scunthorpe United stay top after a 2-2 draw against Sheffield United and are a point clear of Bury who moved up to second place after a 2-1 home win against Chesterfield.

Bolton are down to third after a 0-0 draw with fourth placed Bradford City with Port Vale who lost 2-1 at Bristol Rovers in fifth place.

Elsewhere, MK Dons won 4-1 at Fleetwood, Rochdale won 3-2 at Millwall, Oxford drew 1-1 with Charlton and Peterborough drew 1-1 with Walsall.
