Robins: We Have To Pick Some Points Up Quickly

Coventry City Manager Mark Robins has said that his side need to pick up some points quickly.

City only managed two points last month and went out of two cup competitions including the FA Cup with a 3-2 loss at tomorrow's opponents Walsall to whom the Sky Blues travel to.

Speaking about the game, the City boss told the media this morning:“The players have had a bit of rest and it’s given us sometime to do that and adapt and change.

“There is a lot of thinking time, a lot of working time this week and I think everyone is just looking forward to getting back to playing.

“Even though we needed a breather and needed some time off, you miss the games, so we are desperate to get playing again.

“It’s a good game, we’ve not long been there and lost in the FA Cup, we took a brilliant following there and again we will be taking a huge number with us on Saturday.

“If we win tomorrow, we will be on more points than we were at this stage last year, so for me that is a big positive and big motivator.

“What has been good and what hasn’t been so good, ultimately it is down to the players, the players pick the team which I tell them all of the time.

“Their performances will influence what I do and that is all they can do and all we can do.

“The other side of it is they’ve had breather now, we’ve got to go out and pick up some points as quickly as possible.

“Whatever happens we’ve got to go there and enjoy it and try and create the chances we created last time against them because we did pretty well in the game.”
