Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that he wants Brandon Mason back playing asap.

The 21 year old was injured in the 0-0 draw at AFC Wimbledon and has been out of the first team ever since.

Speaking about him to the Coventry Telegraph, Mark Robins said: “He’s come back, dropped out again, re-injured it so I don’t know.

“But he needs to get himself back now. We’re looking for that strength of character and strength of mind.

"Obviously, we don't want to be playing injured players but we need to make sure they are not just taking their time to get back in a position to play.

I want everyone fit and everyone fighting and understanding their bodies and thinking, ‘actually, I can play with that.’

“But because they’re young they don’t always know, so they have to be told how long they will be out for and, generally, because you can’t feel it as a physiotherapist, you have to go by the book.

“So, for example, if Jack Grimmer has a grade two tear it’s four to six weeks. Jack knows his body and he can feel that it’s working but if he comes back early he might think he will re-injure it.

"I am looking for that strength of character, without putting players at risk, to get them back as quickly as possible."
