Mark Robins has said that he wants to put in place something the fans can enjoy talking about.

Robins, who was appointed as manager of Coventry City shortly after 5pm today, said to City's Club Journalist Keiran Crowley: "I'm absolutely delighted to have been given this opportunity.

"It's a club with great tradition and heritage and there is no doubt that this is the kind of thing I have been looking for.

"This is somewhere where we can build. It will take a while and the length of my contract reflects that but we want to put something in place that the fans can enjoy talking about with their friends again, not just now but in the future as well.

"Over the last ten years there has been a trend of results that we have to stop. There has been a couple of times in those last ten years where the club has done reasonably well but in eight of those years there's been relegation from the Premier League to League One and I am excited at the challenge of putting a really competitive team on the pitch.
