Robins Up For Cup Run

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that he wants the Sky Blues to try and win the Johnstones Paint Trophy.

"There’s been a marked improvement in the attitude and the atmosphere at the club," Robins said to the CT's Andy Turner.

"Results are lifting the doom and gloom, if there was any, and this game provides a good opportunity to do that by continuing our winning sequence.

"We want to progress in the competition – you’ve got to try to win it. I’m not thinking ‘this is a distraction’ because it’s an opportunity for us. I reached the Northern final when I was manager of Rotherham.

"We did particularly well that season because we beat Leeds and Leicester who were the two favourites that season, and we did well in the league as well so there was some sort of benefit.

"We’re looking to build some impetus and form and you can see that coming game by game. There is truth in the old clichés about winning and losing becoming a habit.".
