Robins Starts With A Heavy Defeat

Mark Robins tenure as manager of Huddersfield Town started with a defeat.

Robins who walked out of Coventry City on Tuesday saw his new charges fall behind when Wigan took the lead on the half hour mark through Callum McManaman and six minutes before the break, Kone flicked in from close range.

Robins made a double change at half-time but eleven minutes, it was three to Wigan with a lovely strike from James McArthur.

Lee Novak pulled one back in the 62nd minute with a header and three minutes later, Robins sent on former City loanee Oliver Norwood to join another former loanee in Peter Clarke on the pitch.

In the 88th minute, Arouna Kone thumped home a fourth to send the Huddersfield fans heading for the exits and condemning Mark Robins, Steve Taylor and Darren Robinson to a 4-1 defeat in their first game in charge.
