Robins: Poorest For A Long While

Coventry City Manager Mark Robins said it was the poorest he had seen his side for a long time after the 2-0 defeat at Blackpool.

Robins told the media about the defeat which saw his side booed off by a large City support,:  “It’s the poorest I’ve seen us for a long time and I’m at a loss to understand how any players can underperform as much as they did.

“We didn’t pass it didn’t move the ball quickly enough, allowed them to get set into a shape as quickly as they needed to.”

“We’ve had a great travelling support again and given them nothing. We had a little bit of a spell when we were 1-0 down, and that just sort of kicked us into life a little bit.

“Then we shoot ourselves in the foot by killing the game off for them, with poor judgement all the way through.

“Even though we’ve got more pace in the side than we had last year, we did look pedestrian and it’s unacceptable.

“On the face of that, you could make many changes and nobody could be surprised to be left out.

“The majority of the players tonight were not here and owe me a performance and owe the supporters a performance on Saturday.”
